Former U.S. President Donald Trump will speak at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The event, one of the world’s largest bitcoin conferences, takes place from July 25 to 27.
Trump’s Support for Cryptocurrency
In recent months, Trump has shown strong support for the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry. Last month, he announced at Mar-a-Lago that he would advocate for bitcoin mining if elected president. Additionally, Trump began accepting political donations in cryptocurrencies in May. His support has garnered backing from notable crypto figures like Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood.
Other Political Speakers
Other U.S. politicians will also speak at Bitcoin 2024. These include presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Republican Senators Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn. Kennedy Jr. gave a keynote speech at Bitcoin 2023, pledging to protect the right to hold and use bitcoin.
Biden’s Campaign and Crypto Industry
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden’s campaign has reached out to the crypto industry for guidance on digital asset policies. However, significant announcements related to crypto or blockchain have yet to be made. The U.S. tech industry group, the Chamber of Progress, urged Biden to support comprehensive crypto regulation, highlighting Trump’s advantage due to the administration’s lack of clarity.
